they are designed to be enjoyed by both beginners and more
challenging for experienced players. We recommend you take your handicap certificate as proof of handicap and in high season we suggest you pre book your tee times.
La Torre Golf Course (photos 1-9)
La Torre is an 18
hole par 68 golf course designed by Nicklaus Design.
Provisional distances (metres): (black) 5,350;
(blue) 4,934; (white) 4,422; (red) 3,822
It features over five hectares of sophisticated bunkers that
separate the holes, creating strategic points which provide
added value to the shots. Plus, a denser grass was planted around
the bunkers, creating the optimum wind shot effect.
It has 6 par 3's with the 11th and and 17th, a carry over water
of 170 yds plus 2 par 5's, both of which are approx 500 yds.
Accuracy is required for the par 4's so keep that driver in your
bag! The greens are in excellent condition, undulating and quite
fast!

Mar Menor Golf Course (photos 10-14) - situated approx 15 minutes away
The
Mar Menor Golf Course, designed by Dave Thomas and Jack Nicholas,
is a 9 hole course. This
is the first of the Jack Nicklaus/Polaris World Resorts to
be completed in this 'Nicklaus Golf Trail'.
An abundance of mature palms and
olive trees line the fairways, and protect the greens,
which are in tip top condition. Impressive water hazards,
tight fairways and deep bunkers make this course a challenge
for an experienced player without being too
daunting for a beginner.
The resort
offers top class practice facilities, including a drving range and putting green,
which are bound to impress. The Mar Menor Golf Resort
is ideally placed to access all the courses in the area. The Golf
shop has a range of clothing and equipment for sale.
El Valle Golf Course - Polaris World (photos 15 - 21) - situated only 5 minutes away.
The 18 hole El Valle Golf Course, designed by Jack nicklaus Design is a par 71
and 6145m course build to professional standards. Set in over 1, 100,000 square metres, this beautiful course is surrounded by stunning countryside near Banos Y Mendigo, with a breathtaking backdrop of the Murcian Mountains.
The golf course is designed with a 'desert' theme and is landscaped around rock-outcroppings, a wide variety of shrubs and desert grasses plus water features including two lakes and waterfall conformations. Accuracy is the name of the game rather than length if you wish to master this excellent golf course.
Roda Golf Course (photos 15-18) - situated approx 15 minutes away
This superb 18 hole par 72 (6, 1337 meters) golf course has
been designed by Dave Thomas with assistance from Sam Torrance. They
have transformed the practically flat ground into an interesting
and undulating golf terrain, with strategically placed lakes and
carefully designed tree planting integrated in to the design, to
challenge all levels of golfers. Watch out for the 7th Hole - 174m Par 3, played over water with the green on a small island!
Hacienda del Alamo (photos 26-29) - situated approx 30 minutes away.
The Hacienda del Alamo championship 18 hole golf course, designed
by Dave Thomas, is currently the longest course in the whole of
Spain at 6 724 metres and tipped to host major tournament in the
future.
Miguel Angel Jimenez announced the resort as "the new number one in Spain" after
shooting a course record of 67!
With wonderful wide open spaces, bounded by mature palm, olives and almond trees,
eight lakes and 84 well placed bunkers, this course is designed to test golfers
of all abilities. The views from the elevated tees are stunning with the surrounding
mountains and plains. The large greens are raised and guarded by deep bunkers.
Mosa Trajectum Golf Course (photos 30-33 ) - situated approx 10 minutes away
The
Championship Golf Course, designed by Brian Connelly and
Peter Hoogcarspel is
complemented by the mountainous landscpe that surrounds
the resort and its stunning views of the area. It
is a high quality course built following the highest course
specification for both USGA and PGA standard.
Mosa Trajectum hosted the final of the Euro Pro Tour Championship
in 2004 and consists of three distinctive nine hole courses,
each with its own striking theme, water features and particular
challenges, namely the The Stone Course, with 22,000 cacti and
8,000 palm trees, the links style Olive Course, weaving through
delightful olive trees and The Pine Course, incoporating 3,500
pine trees with views of the surrounding countryside.
